Call to Action: Technical and Vocational Education, an Opportunity to Transform Lives
It is estimated that in Bolivia nearly 7% of young people that are looking for a job are unemployed (1), and more than two-thirds of those who are employed work in the informal sector (2), likely exposed to undignified forms of employment. Despite this reality, thousands of adolescents and youth dream for a better future; however, without access to adequate technical and vocational training, many doors remain closed. We cannot allow the talent and creativity of our youth to be wasted.
At Save the Children, we are committed to real change: we promote programs that prepare young people to become entrepreneurs and to work in innovative sectors, with a focus on the circular economy and sustainability. It’s not just about teaching trades, but about opening paths to decent work, economic independence, and solutions that benefit society as a whole.
But we need more allies in this mission. Businesses, public and private institutions, organizations, and the community at large: it’s time to join forces to strengthen technical and vocational education in Bolivia. Let’s support the training of young entrepreneurs, provide real opportunities, and make education a bridge to a more just and sustainable future.
The transformation starts here and now. Are you in?
